Day 1019, Wonderful birthday
Today was my first Australian birthday. I wanted it to be fun as much as possible. I woke up and received a beautiful card from Rob. He also confirmed that the birthday present I want is a screen reader. I am so happy to have it. It’s making my life a lot easier.
The first music I played today was the song, “I Feel Better When I’m Dancing.” At 7 am I went to my morning class and we did a full hour of breathwork. Then I went to my Zumba class. At the end of the class, they sang happy birthday to me. In Australia they end it with, “Hip, hip, hooray” three times. That was new for me. I rushed home to attend my support group. It was good to be with my familiar people who are working on the same issues I’m working on. I did a sudoku next. I love sudoku. It’s like number meditation for me and I feel peaceful when I’m doing it. In the evening we went down the hill (out of the country and into town about 35 minutes’ drive) to the closest neighbourhood with really good restaurants. We had a lovely Thai meal. It was different than anything I’ve tasted before. I liked it. Since we were already down the hill, we were half way to the grocery store that usually has Passover food. We got a few things but the stock person said he was having difficulty obtaining stock of the things he usually supplies for Passover. I got substitutes that are not kosher for Passover, but it’s the best I can do. Finally, we came home and had birthday cake and conversation with our housemates. Throughout the day I received messages from people wishing me a happy birthday. The whole day was fun.
There was a big wind storm today. A branch fell and hit the roof or our car while we were driving this evening. That was a little disconcerting but nothing bad came of it. Whew!
Here’s a painting of me reminiscing about all the good things that happened today.
