Day 1023, Visit to Artist, Ian De Souza’s studio
Today was a really fun day. The American Women’s Club of Perth made a visit to the Artist’s Studio of Ian De Souza. He’s a very famous artist world-wide. He focuses on figures and his internal experience. It was very interesting to listen to him speak about his process and techniques and what he thinks about. His studio/home is very beautiful. There are very few barriers between the inside spaces and the outside spaces so it feels very much like living in a garden with shady places to rest in. He did all the brick and stonework himself over many years, so the whole place is also a work of art. There are water features, plants, glass walls, railway cars, and awnings. I loved being in that space. His wife told us about the business aspects of showing his work and some silk scarves that are printed with his floral paintings.
I had to leave early to get back for a meeting with our lawyer to finish our wills. My goal was to have my will updated before my trip to the USA next week. Job done.
Here’s a painting of the people in attendance with the artist in the middle and his wife behind me on the far right. Everyone else pictured, you probably know who you are.
